PINUS CEMBRA CHALET
Grower Notes:

Pinus cembra 'Chalet' is commonly referred to as Chalet Swiss Stone Pine. It is a slow-growing, medium-sized pine with a more narrow, dense, conical form. It features soft, dark green to blue clusters of long needles with white undersides. Colorful, short-stalked greenish purple cones mature to brownish purple.

Chalet Swiss Stone Pine is deer resistant, extremely hardy and easy to grow. It thrives in full sun in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It can tolerate some light shade and a variety of soil conditions, but prefers sandy loams. There is no browning in winter and no die back. It prefers cool summer climates and is not recommended for south of USDA Zone 7. This beauty is ideal for planting in corners or near gates, doors and other smaller spaces.
